Adolf Hitler DNA" Studies Create Waves"

"Adolf Hitler DNA Studies Create Waves"

San Francisco : A new research claims that there might be scientific proof after all that indicates that the German dictator Adolf Hitler might have had Jewish origins after all. Though there have been several claims earlier, none of the studies have been able to scientifically pinpoint how the Nazi, responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews, had an African-Jewish lineage.

Reporter Jean Paul Mulders and Marc Vermeeren conducted the study with the help of DNA studies of the saliva samples from 39 of Adolf Hitler's relatives across America and Europe. Reports indicate that the duo had even searched out Adolf Hitler's cousin, Norbert H of Austrian origin.

The research found that the DNA contained a chromosome that was rare in people from Western Europe and more common among the Ashkenazi and Shephardic Jews and also the people living in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. Considering the Nazi's fixation with ancestry, one of the experts said that he would not have appreciated the research.

Another genetic expert said that though the research cannot pinpoint the exact origins of Adolf Hitler, it almost proves that he was not an 'Aryan' a race that he tried to establish by 'cleansing' Europe of the others.

The chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b (Y-DNA), found in the DNA samples, is considered one of the founding lineages of the Jewish population. The scientists have explained that the research validates a historical myth that has been the cause of speculation for decades now.

Earlier it was claimed that Adolf Hitler's grandfather was a Jew but due to lack of scientific evidence or availability of any DNA sample, the claim could not be validated.Source

Scientists Discovered Richest Planetary System

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 11:15 PM PST

Scientists have discovered a planetary system containing at least five planets, orbiting the Sun-like star HD 10180 using ESO's world-leading HARPS instrument. There's evidence of two more planets in the same system, which would make it similar to our Solar System in terms of the number of planets.

"We have found what is most likely the system with the most planets yet discovered," said Christophe Lovis as saying. "Studies of planetary motions in the new system reveal complex gravitational interactions between the planets and give us insights into the long-term evolution of the system," he added.

The five strongest signals correspond to planets with Neptune-like masses - between 13 and 25 Earth masses - which orbit the star with periods ranging from about 6 to 600 days. These planets are located between 0.06 and 1.4 times the Earth-Sun distance from their central star. Amongst the other two planets that could exist, one would be a Saturn-like planet (with a minimum mass of 65 Earth masses) orbiting in 2200 days. The other would be the least massive exoplanet ever discovered, with a mass of about 1.4 times that of the Earth.

So far, astronomers know of fifteen systems with at least three planets. The last record-holder was 55 Cancri, which contains five planets, two of them being giant planets. Another important result found by the astronomers is that there is a relationship between the mass of a planetary system and the mass and chemical content of its host star.

The discovery is announced today at the international colloquium "Detection and dynamics of transiting exoplanets", at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence, France.Source--- Image Source

This is the Original Face of Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, Lord of the Most Popular

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 11:13 PM PST

The face of ancient Egypt's most famous ruler, King of King Tutankhamun on display to the public the first time.

This mummy nearly 3,000 years old. Archaeologists took the mummy from its sarcophagus and put it in a crate with the temperature setting on his tomb in Luxor's Valley of the Kings.

The event comes 85 years after the pharaoh's tomb was discovered by British explorer Howard Carter.

Until now, only 50 people who had seen the face of the boy king who died more than 3000 years ago. As experts lifted Tutankhamun from his coffin they briefly set aside the white cloth that covered him, black face and body.

The move is part of how to protect the remains. Archaeologists say they are threatened because of the heat and humidity in the tomb by a large number of tourists visiting each year.

"The golden boy has magic and mystery and therefore every person all over the world come to Egypt to see what was done to preserve the golden boy and all I am sure come to see the golden boy," said Head of Heritage Zahi Hawass of Egypt before his body was moved .

Tutankhamun's gold mask removed with hot knives and wires 1333 Tutankhamun ruled Egypt until 1324 BC and are believed to ascend to the throne at the age of 9 years. Although during his lifetime does not have a history that determines, the death of Tutankhamun's tomb received worldwide attention because the kedaan intact when it was opened by Carter in 1922.

His tomb contains a treasure trove of gold and a beautiful black wood which is considered a luxury when Carter look into the tomb. Asked what he saw, the answer is the famous "Yes, something wonderful."
Cause of death The work of the great pharaoh's tomb was made mummified corpse, covered in amulets and jewels and wearing a gold mask. In an effort to retrieve the treasure, Carter and his team cut the body into pieces, chopping off limbs and head and using hot knives and wires to remove the gold mask of Tutankhamun are glued to the face by the embalming process.

Year 2005 among scientists body was reconstructed and restored to its original sarcophagus in 1926. Being removed for X-ray testing three times in the next few years. The treasure taken captivated the world and attract millions of people came to the Valley of the Kings.

Question mengenap why Tutankhamun died at about age 19 years and rumors of a curse that makes those involved died digging his grave more and make the famous pharaoh.
When his body was x-rayed in 1968, a bone fracture in his skull, prompting speculation that he was killed by a blow. Some historians argue that he was killed for attempting to bring back polytheism having succeeded Akhenaten who left the golden gods of Egypt to monotheism.

However a CT scan of his remains in 2005 led researchers to say that he was not murdered and may have died due to complications from a broken leg.

Head of Egyptian relics Zahi Hawass said the research suggests the boy king died after the wound became infected, although not all the teams agree with the diagnosis, all rejected allegations of murder.

Animals First Born Into Earth

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 11:06 PM PST

As quoted from Yahoo News, the results showed that the sponge-like creatures lived about 650 million years ago. Based on digital images of fossils, these animals have a size of about one centimeter or equal to the tip of your little finger.

This animal also has an irregular shape with a network of internal canals.

Similar fossil shells were found beneath glacial deposits 635 million years old in southern Australia. This is preliminary evidence from animal body forms in the fossil record at this time.

Previously, the oldest fossils of hard-bodied animals came from two reef organisms that lived about 550 million years ago.

Researchers have identified the fossilized soft-bodied animals is controversial. they are thought to originate from the Ediacaran period between 577 and 542 million years ago. This research was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Geology.

"We guess the microbial mats have been made substrates such as corals and sponges may have grown on it. These animals have taken advantage of the height of corals, "said Maloof.

Although scientists do not conclude unequivocally but this estimate is a beast. "That is our best guess," said Maloof, geological scientists from Princeton University.

These organisms are relatively large size so that less likely in the form of bacteria. These findings also form asymmetric, higher than the worm and found in relatively large tunnel or channel that is similar keadaanspons today. On the other hand, algae have a tube that is much smaller than the fossil organisms.

The findings were published from the journal Nature Geoscience. Scientists also provide the first direct evidence that animal life have been there before and probably last, when the incident 'Snow Ball Earth' which causes the planet is covered with ice in a long time.

Fluoride Water is Good for Dental Health

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 11:02 PM PST

Washington: A new study has found that children drinking water with added fluoride helps dental health in adulthood decades later. "Your fluoridation exposure at birth is affecting your tooth loss in your 40s and 50s, regardless of what your fluoridation exposure was like when you were 20 and 30 years old," said Matthew Neidell, a health policy professor at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

He combined data from recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention community health study and a water census to see the affects of drinking fluoridated water in the 1950s and 1960s on tooth loss in the 1990s. For children whose adult teeth have not shown yet, fluoride still improves tooth enamel, the highly mineralized tissue on teeth's surface. Fluoride also helps teeth damaged from the decay process and breaks down bacteria on teeth.

The researchers write that respondents who did not live in the same county their entire lives received differing amounts of fluoride in their water, which complicated study findings. The study, which focused on tooth loss as an indication of overall oral health, could not adjust for factors such as use of toothpaste, which also provides a dose of fluoride. To prevent tooth decay, Howard Pollick, a professor of clinical dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco recommends also brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and reducing sugar levels in diet.Source

T-Rex cousins remains' Discovered in Edmonton sewers

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:46 PM PST

London: Edmonton sewer workers stumbled upon the remains of three dinosaurs - possibly the cousins of Tyrannosaurus Rex. Aaron Krywiak and Ryley Paul first saw a sharp tooth while digging 30 metres underground near the city's river valley.

"We knew it was pretty significant," the Globe and Mail quoted Krywiak as saying. Later, the crew found the remains of Albertosaurus (a carnivore that stood on two legs) and two Edmontosauruses (a four-legged herbivore).

"There's lots of pieces. We haven't gotten through them all yet," said Don Brinkman of Royal Tyrrell dinosaur museum, which will take the bones for its collection. Albertosaurus was a smaller cousin of the carnivorous T-rex that roamed the Earth about 75 million years ago. The Edmontosaurus was a large, toothless dinosaur from the same time period as the T-Rex.Source

Scientists Create Artificial Life

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:45 PM PST

Scientific breakthrough made biologists of U.S. citizens. Craig Venter succeeded in creating 'artificial life' for the first time in his lab.

The scientists, deny that he is playing God with his work.

The creation of synthetic cells that is described as a milestone in science by a British expert, is a dream come true of research that lasted for 15 years by genetic entrepreneur, Dr Ventern.

He blew life into the body of bacteria use genes that are united through the process in the laboratory on a concept of development, with the main objective to make the genetic material of organisms. Included in it, making artificial organisms which are designed for specific tasks such as creating vaccines or clean up pollution.

But some experts see the potential for danger in these findings. For example, synthetic life could be misused to create biological weapons.
Speaking on BBC2 Newsnight program in Washington, Venter has denied allegations he had been toying with the Lord.

"The allegations always emerged whenever a new breakthrough appeared in the medical or science related to biology. (Research) has a goal of humanity to control nature. It's just like how we tame the animal, "he said.

"This is a level higher than our understanding. This is the stage where we can begin to understand how life works and perhaps also how we can control microbiology system for the sake of humanity, "he added.

When asked, the new technique can be purchased by owners of large capital, Venter said, technology is not for sale. "We're trying to develop this technology to advance the field of vaccine protection. We will use it to develop a basic understanding of cell life, "he explained.

Venter also denied fears that some parties that the technology will be used as bio-terrorism. "Most people agree that there is a growing potential, that the technology could be used for violence. But there also believe if this development has the potential to help human life, "he explained.

2 Japanese amateur astronomers have discovered a comet or asteroid strike on Jupiter 3rd time in 13 months

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:42 PM PST

" Jupiter Under asteroid attack for 3rd time in 13 months "

LONDON - Two Japanese amateur astronomers have discovered a comet or asteroid strike on Jupiter -the third time the giant planet has been bombarded in 13 months. The observations show that impacts on the giant planet occur more frequently than previously thought.

The last two attacks occurred in June 2010 and July 2009. Before these three events were recorded, the only definite case of an asteroid or a comet colliding with Jupiter was in 1994 - a collision with fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9.

So many observations in such a short period is probably because of a technique that makes sharp still images by combining the clearest frames from a video recording, says Glenn Orton of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

"The results are quite impressive," New Scientist quoted Orton as saying. Orton and a group of astronomers led by Australian amateur Anthony Wesley have suggested setting up a worldwide network of small, automated telescopes to continuously monitor Jupiter for impacts.Source

Deficiency of Vitamin D Linked to Wide Array of Diseases

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:40 PM PST

Researchers have mapped the points at which vitamin D interacts with our DNA - and identified over two hundred genes that it directly influences. The study highlights the extent to which vitamin D deficiency may increase susceptibility to a wide range of diseases.

Now, researchers at the University of Oxford have shown the extent to which vitamin D interacts with our DNA. They used new DNA sequencing technology to create a map of vitamin D receptor binding across the genome. The vitamin D receptor is a protein activated by vitamin D, which attaches itself to DNA and thus influences what proteins are made from our genetic code.

The researchers found 2,776 binding sites for the vitamin D receptor along the length of the genome. These were unusually concentrated near a number of genes associated with susceptibility to autoimmune conditions such as MS, Crohn's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus (or 'lupus') and rheumatoid arthritis, and to cancers such as chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and colorectal cancer. They also showed that vitamin D had a significant effect on the activity of 229 genes including IRF8, previously associated with MS, and PTPN2, associated with Crohn's disease and type 1 diabetes.

"Our study shows quite dramatically the wide-ranging influence that vitamin D exerts over our health," said Dr Andreas Heger from the MRC Functional Genomics Unit at Oxford, one of the lead authors of the study. "There is now evidence supporting a role for vitamin D in susceptibility to a host of diseases. Vitamin D supplements during pregnancy and the early years could have a beneficial effect on a child's health in later life.

Some countries such as France have instituted this as a routine public health measure," added the first author of the paper, Dr Sreeram Ramagopalan from the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics.

The main source of vitamin D in the body comes from exposing the skin to sunlight, although a diet of oily fish can provide some of the vitamin. A lack of vitamin D can affect bone development, leading to rickets; in pregnant mothers, poor bone health can be fatal to both mother and child at birth, hence there are selective pressures in favour of people who are able to produce adequate vitamin D.Source

How Nicotine' promotes addiction 'Breast Cancer'

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:35 PM PST

Nicotine binds to a specific receptor in the body to promote nicotine addiction as well as breast cancer, says a new study. Yuan-Soon Ho of the Taipei Medical University, and colleagues found that human breast cancer cells consistently over-expressed the alpha 9 subunit of the nAChR (nicotinic acetylcholine receptor).

The expression was higher in advanced-stage breast cancer compared with early-stage cancer. They also found that reducing the levels of nAChR inhibited tumour growth in laboratory experiments, whereas increasing its levels or treating more normal breast cells with nicotine promoted the development of cancer characteristics.

The authors say their study was limited by its small sample size, and the fact that it included only Asian patients. Ilona Linnoila of the Center for Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute writes that the study "suggests not only that smoking could be causally related to breast carcinogenesis but also that nicotine could directly contribute to the molecular mechanism of carcinogenesis in addition to indirectly contributing by promoting addiction to smoking."Source

A British woman "Mellissa Thompson" has become the world’s fastest texter

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:25 PM PST

London: A British woman has become the world's fastest texter after she sent a tongue-twisting 26-word message in just 25 seconds. Melissa Thompson, 27, wrote the message- "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human" in just 25.94 seconds.

Mellissa Thompson, from Salford, Greater Manchester, broke the previous world record created in March this year by American Franklin Page by 9.6 seconds, beating his 35.54 seconds. She had used Samsung's new Galaxy S smart-phone's special 'SWYPE' key pad, which enables users to input text without their fingertip leaving the screen.

Thompson was shopping with her boyfriend Chris Davies, 23, when they visited a Samsung roadshow and she was invited to have a go at breaking the record, which is yet to be verified by Guinness. "I used to send a lot of text messages - 40 or 50-a-day to Chris alone so we both knew I could type fast," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"But since we moved in together and I started my job I haven't been texting as much and, you could say, my fingers were out of shape. "It's a real shock to find out that I'm the fastest texter in the world. "But using SWYPE helped. Everyone should give it a go and see how easy it is," she added. Source

Spectacular Telescope Captures Galactic Super Volcanic Explosion

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:24 PM PST

London: A spectacular "super volcano" that erupted trillions of miles away from earth has been clicked by a NASA telescope. The staggering eruption was filmed by NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the National Science Foundation's Very Large Array.

Astronomers said shock waves between a giant black hole and cooling gas, caused the mind boggling explosion, reports the Telegraph. The explosion then blasted through the "massive" Messier 87 galaxy more than 50 million light years away. One light year is the equivalent of 5.9 trillion miles.

Researchers said the black hole powered the "galactic super-volcano" and prevented hundreds of millions of new stars from being formed. They said that normally such stars would form in the galaxy when "superheated" gas cooled but this particular blast interrupted that process.

Nasa said the cosmic "eruption" was very similar to the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland, which shot plumes of ash and smoke into the atmosphere and caused chaos for world travel earlier this year. "With Eyjafjallajokull, pockets of hot gas blasted through the surface of the lava, generating shock waves that can be seen passing through the grey smoke of the volcano," a NASA spokesperson said.Source ---- Image Source

150 Women Raped Cruel Congo

Posted: 11 Feb 2011 10:23 PM PST

Guerrillas raped at least 150 women in July when attacked several villages in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

UN spokesman Martin Nesirky at a press conference at UN Headquarters, New York, on Monday said that UN officials have accused the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLT) as the perpetrators of the attack.

FDLR is Hutu rebel groups have terrorized the hills in the eastern DRC over the years, become citizens of the village as a target in a row fight the natural resources beneath them.

In the province of Nord Kivu in eastern DRC, a joint team of UN human rights endorse allegations concerning at least 154 women were raped, said Nesirky.

"All victims received medical care and also has provided care psychology and sociology," he added.

Members of FDLR militants blocking roads and preventing the villagers reached the point of closest communication.

Rape in eastern Congo has been going wide for years, but aid workers said the recent events as unusual due to the many victims and real coordination.

In early 2009, the United Nations, the DRC and Rwanda to start military operations against the FDLR, but the militants' actions actually increase the number of rapes reported by aid workers.
